Bacterial Colony
Bacterial Colonies are a coral species found throughout the inside of the large trees in the Northwestern Mushroom Forest.
If the player scans 11 of them, they unlock the recipe of Bacterial Samples.
Appearance
Bacterial Colonies are small patches of pulsating bacteria that shift between a glowing blue, purple, and pink colors. These colors are shown through their various bumps throughout the colony, with it also having various black stripes across it. When scanned, it will violently shake and become a deep pink color.

The cave system inside the fossilized tree creates a sheltered environment where unique lifeforms can thrive. One of the most visible of theses takes the form of large, dome-shaped colonies of bacteria which leach minerals from the cave walls to power their metabolism.
